Terms of Use
Effective date: June 17, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Your Prayer — The Western Wall website and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Jewish Projects ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
About the Service
The Service allows you to submit a personal prayer that we will print with care and place between the stones of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, as described on our website. The Service may also offer optional email updates and newsletters if you choose to opt in.
Jewish Projects is a charitable and community-oriented initiative. The Service is provided free of charge unless we state otherwise.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
Your submissions
When you submit a prayer, you agree that:
- You are submitting the prayer for yourself or with permission from the person it concerns.
- Your submission is respectful, lawful, and does not contain hate speech, threats, harassment, obscenity, or content that infringes others' rights.
- You grant us a non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, print, and handle your prayer text solely to fulfill the Service, including printing and placing it at the Western Wall and maintaining internal records related to your submission.
- You understand that prayers are handled with care and respect, but we cannot guarantee a specific date, time, or method of placement.
We reserve the right to decline, remove, or not fulfill submissions that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are inappropriate, without notice.
Newsletter and communications
If you opt in to receive emails from us, you agree to receive newsletters, updates, and announcements at the email address you provide. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. Opting out of marketing emails does not affect our ability to send transactional messages related to your prayer submission when necessary.
See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your personal information.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
- Submit false information, spam, automated requests, or content you do not have the right to share.
- Use the Service to harm, exploit, or mislead others.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Jewish Projects or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by these Terms or with our prior written consent.
You retain ownership of the personal content in your prayer. Our use of your prayer is limited as described in these Terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
Placing prayers at the Western Wall is a spiritual tradition. We undertake this work with sincerity and care, but we make no religious, spiritual, or outcome guarantees.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JEWISH PROJECTS AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jewish Projects and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, data storage, and email delivery. Your use of the Service may also involve third-party content such as fonts. We are not responsible for third-party services or websites linked from the Service.
Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will apply from the date posted unless otherwise stated. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants you mandatory local rights, those rights are not waived by these Terms.
General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Jewish Projects regarding the Service.
