Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 17, 2026
Jewish Projects ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Your Prayer — The Western Wall website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you submit a prayer through our form, we collect:
- Contact information: your full name and email address (required), and optionally your phone number and country.
- Prayer content: the text of your prayer (up to 600 characters).
- Newsletter preference: whether you opted in to receive email updates from us.
- Submission metadata: the date and time your prayer was submitted.
We do not require you to create an account. We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data beyond the religious or personal content you choose to include in your prayer.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Receive, store, and fulfill your prayer submission.
- Print your prayer and place it between the stones of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, as described on our website.
- Send you email newsletters, updates, and announcements if you opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Respond to your requests or questions if you contact us.
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data based on:
- Consent: when you submit a prayer and, separately, when you opt in to our newsletter.
- Legitimate interests: to operate the Service, fulfill prayer submissions, and communicate with supporters in a way you would reasonably expect.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, including:
- Supabase — secure database hosting for prayer submissions and newsletter subscriber records.
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- Resend — email delivery for newsletters and related communications (only if you opted in).
- Google Fonts — typography loaded when you visit our site. Google may receive technical data such as your IP address when fonts are requested. See Google's Privacy Policy.
These providers process data on our behalf and are permitted to use it only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Jewish Projects, our users, or others.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Service does not use analytics cookies or advertising trackers. Our hosting and email providers may process standard server or delivery logs (such as IP addresses) as part of normal operations. When you visit our site, your browser may request fonts from Google as described above.
Data retention
We retain prayer submissions for as long as needed to fulfill your request and operate our records. Newsletter subscriber information is retained while you remain subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward to honor unsubscribe requests and maintain records. You may request deletion of your information as described below.
Your choices and rights
- Newsletter: unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails or by contacting us.
- Access, correction, or deletion: email us at chanan@jewishprojects.org to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law.
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Complaints: EEA/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and restricted database access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
